Marketproof MCP connects Perplexity to live NYC real-estate data: building and unit search, recorded sales and comps, owner and contact lookups, DOB permits and violations, and market analysis. Ask a question and Perplexity researches it against live Marketproof data, with sources.
Before you start
Perplexity Pro or Max (Enterprise also works, see the note below). Custom remote connectors are not on the free plan.
A Marketproof MCP account with a credit balance. Sign up at mcp.marketproof.com and buy a credit pack. You need credits to run any queries.
A Connection from your Marketproof console, which gives you a Server URL, a Client ID, and a Client Secret. Create one under Connect your AI agent. The Client Secret is shown only once, so copy it when you create the connection.
Connect it (Pro / Max)
Get your credentials from the Marketproof console as above.
Start the Add flow. Settings → Connectors → + Custom connector, then choose Remote (not Local).
Enter the server details. Name: Marketproof. Server URL:
https://mcp.marketproof.com/tools. Authentication: OAuth. Client ID and Client Secret: paste from your Connection. Tick the acknowledgement box and click Add.Connect and authorize. Open the new Marketproof connector card and complete the sign-in and authorization prompt.
Use it. The connector is available in your conversations and in Comet (agent) workflows.

Enterprise
On Enterprise, an admin first allows custom connectors under Enterprise settings → Permissions → Connectors (or adds Marketproof organization-wide). Each member then adds or opens the connector and authorizes it individually, so Perplexity only sees what that member is permitted to access.
Troubleshooting
No Custom connector option. Custom remote connectors need Pro or Max, or an admin to allow them on Enterprise.
Connector shows as not connected. Open its card and complete the authorization. Re-check the Client ID and Client Secret.
Every request fails with "insufficient credits." Your Marketproof balance is empty. Buy a credit pack in the console.
To remove it. Settings → Connectors → the Marketproof card → Remove.
